It was something of a sign
of the times in my college years that a woman anticipating marriage had to think
about what her name would become. It even
became an option that it wouldn’t change at all. There is a new, but related, sign of the time. My daughter’s pre-wedding decisions included
getting new e-mail addresses that coordinate with the name she picked. Oh well, we had more monogrammed stuff.
